The ugly jabs at the late Whitney Houston keep coming on talk radio. One of the most recent and probably nastiest derogatory remarks about the late pop diva was delivered on the John and Ken show, which is aired on KFI AM 640 in Los Angeles. Afternoon drive listeners of this Clear Channel station, many of whom with children in their cars, heard the host call the late Ms. Houston a “crack ho” on the air. Click here to listen:
“At some point you’re just sick of it all, and so is everybody else in the industry; all her friends and hangers on; everybody who knew had to deal with her. It’s like ah Jesus… here comes the crack ho again, what’s she gonna do ah look at that she’s doin handstands next to the pool. Very good crack ho… after while everybody’s exhausted. And then you find out she’s dead. It’s like really; took this long.”
The comments, which were made on Tuesday, Februray 14, 2012 during their live broadcast, have started a fire storm of criticism from fans of Whitney Houston and from professionals in the broadcast industry. Lee Michaels, former national program director for Syndication One, founder of US Talk Network, and 45 year veteran of the broadcast industry said “this was an abuse of the airwaves.” Mr. Michaels when on to say “if I were the program director at that station they would have been pulled off the air immediately. Their comments were callous, indecent, unprofessional, and unnecessary.” Lee Michaels comments were heard when the story broke on the nationally syndicated radio program, “Real Deal Talk”, hosted by Andre Michael Eggelletion.
According to Wikipedia, John Chester Kobylt and Kenneth Robertson Chiampou, known professionally as John and Ken are the hosts of the four-hour weekday radio show. In recent years, especially since the 2003 California recall, afternoon drive hosts John and Ken have become actively involved in several political causes, most notably that of illegal immigration. In the months leading up to the 2004 election, the hosts instigated several political rallies advocating the defeat of Congressmen David Dreier (a Republican) and Joe Baca (a Democrat), both of whom they felt were wrongly supportive of illegal immigration. As a result, the John and Ken show was the subject of a Federal Election Commission complaint filed by the National Republican Congressional Committee, alleging that John and Ken engaged in an illegal campaign against Congressman Dreier. The "Political Human Sacrifice" campaign as they dubbed it was not successful, since both Dreier and Baca were re-elected, albeit Dreier by a substantially smaller percentage than in past terms. On March 16, 2006, the complaint was dismissed.

Really?! What a piece of work you are!! You need to show some f***ing respect here. You are WAY out of line and need to have you license revoked. Not only will I never listen to your damn show, I will advise everyone that I know to do the same. Where ever you're from, you need to take your ass back there….quickly. You and your comments are Not appreciated and I hope your simple ass show gets pulled from the air.
Really? I am so over everyone spouting how great Whitney Houston was and how we all need to greave for a Great Loss! Really? She was great back in the day. Recently and what lead to her death was the CRACK, drug abuse, and alcohol. We have lost so many stars who took their talent and threw it away on substance abuse…Hendrix, Belushi, Farley, Garland, Haim, Jackson, Murphy, Ledger, James, and the endless list can go on! I for one try to teach my children that Whitney Houston squandered her gift for a high and that is WRONG! She should not be worshiped, but pitied. Certainly I should not have to keep hearing how great a drug addict was at my every turn. Thank God someone is out there telling the truth!
Seriously?…. You don't know how great Whitney Houston was? Then you must have never heard her sing! You cannot deny this lady's talent. It's a God given gift to be able to open your mouth and make people all over the world hear you, feel you, admire you. Sure, she was great back in the day. Seasons change and so do people. I'm sure you don't look or feel like you did ten years ago. One thing people seem to forget is that Ms. Houston was a human being; capable of error, accountable for her own actions. I'm sure she wasn't proud of what she had become but one thing you can't take from her is her musical accomplishments. And by the way… I've seen people throw away everything in life over something much smaller than substance abuse. Unless you've been a former addict or had really close dealings with some one who was addicted to drugs, alcohol, etc. then you would know how hard is is to overcome it. There isn't a cure for this disease. One would truly have to look to the Most High for deliverance.
To the gentlemen who were so disrespectful, yes, she showed herself in a bad light in front of the public eye and now so have you. Let's see… what can I call you? Not everyone can attest to seeing Whitney on an all out drug binge, but millions surely were listening to your show. You, as the professionals that you are, should know better and should be ashamed of yourselves.
YOU HAVE NO RIGHT USING THE LATE WHITNEY HOUSTON'S NAME IN THIS HORRIFIC CONTEXT. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO JUDGE HER OR HER DOWNFALLS. YOU ARE NOT PERFECT, YOU ARE NOT GOD, AND FURTHERMORE YOU ARE OUT OF LINE! YOUR SUPERIORS' SHOULD FINE, FIRE, AND SUE YOU! THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!
TO JOHN & KEN KFI AM 640 in Los Angeles
YOU WISH YOU MADE THE $ AND LIVED THE LIFE, THAT THE LATE WHITNEY HOUSTON LIVED. YOU BOTH ARE DEVILS!
Who was high as a kite during a Diane Sawyer interview and said, "Crack is Whack." I know. The Crack Ho said that. She had a voice that set the bar. Then she married Bobby and went to the bar. She also set the bar for national anthems at the Super Bowl. She threw her voice away and her money. I'm pissed at Whitney, not John and Ken.
John and Ken did not lie. They are always in your face. Their comment was predictable and true.
I wish tmz & all of the rest of the ragtag news makers including cnn stop bad mouthing Whitney Houston so much as if your "SOURCES" have not taken an independent polygraph to verify that what negativity they have been saying about her are true than don’t report them.
If I were her family I would sue all of them for defamation of character & libelous slander for maximum damages possible
I'm outraged that a couple of inconsiderate idiots would utter such cruelty on the air, about a recently deceased star. No matter what her circumstanced had been at one time or another in her life, she earned her respect as she paid her debt that we all must pay someday. With this kind of behavior, it's hard to hide their motives.

Wow, All Caps and Blind to what really happened to Whitney Houston, please tell me the sky is purple in your World. Houston the Singer Died 20 years ago Folks, hate to break it to you. Since they we have had Whitney Houston, the Crack Addict, the Alcoholic, the Abuser, and the Failure. She pissed away her Talent long ago, too long ago, for anyone in their right mind to be able to act like she was still some great contribution to the world. She was a burden sounds like, she partied with Drugs and Alcohol at the expensive of her Friends and Family, and traded in whatever reasons she had for anyone not to knock her. She gave up on herself and made herself a Joke to the world, the world is only repeating that joke she made, not making it up out of thin air and wrongfully slamming her.
Shame John and Ken have been ran over by what really is just a matter in Poor choice of words, especially since a lot of their listeners agree with the Sentiments they were trying to convey in their own fashion. I Support John and Ken, and I share the Opinion that Whitney was a Crack Ho. See, uhh, hear, you guys on the 27th!
I just lost my Father a few a months ago. The pain of the lost was so difficult and still is. I couldn't imagine having to deal with the loss and the negative backlash of the public. Whitney was not perfect by any means, but I haven't found any body for that matter… perfect. I do know that we are all human. We have issues, they are just displayed in the public eye. They are not drugs, but its hate, its gossip, adultery, gambling, etc. Her daughter is in so much pain. If her daughter read some these post, I know it would HURT her even deeper. Whitney was person who shared a great gift. I have had family members who were addicted to drugs. I can relate to the pain of wanting to see them stop, but they didn't. The pain of their death was no less painful if they would died from natural causes. Can somebody please relate to the human of this? Have you lost any one recently? What are we contributing to the world? What are we doing with our gifts? There is always something that can be valued. IF you sow judgement, you will be judged. Hurt people…hurt people and heal people…heal people.
We need to stop the False Idol Worship people!
It's unfortunate the choices Whitney Houston made in her life and the poor role model she became to her 'fans'. Due to her poor decisions she's now left a daughter without a mother as well as led her down a dark path of addiction and abuse.
As human being we are all fundamentally flawed regardless of how much money, talent, or fame we are blessed with.
Calling her a 'Crack Ho" is disrespectful and inflammatory but the reality is, she smoked crack. Talk radio is filled with inflammatory talk; that's why we listen to it. If you're soft headed and easily offended, tune into such homogeneous radio as NPR or Michael Andre Egelletion
Thousands of people have flocked to Graceland for three decades to commemorate the life/death of Elvis–and I'm sure we're all familiar with what led to his demise. Whitney Houston was a legend with an illness….much like Elvis. However (if this is going to be about race), white America would be outraged if two black radio personalities had said anything like that about Elvis–and just days after his death. The comments were insensitive and unprofessional. If anything, listeners/supporters should be outraged by the colossal stupidity that would lead any radio personality to believe that those comments were the right thing to say. The strong must bear the infirmities of the weak—it's a biblical principle; not something to mock. We should pray for people that struggle with addiction–let's not forget Shannon Hoon, Bradley Nowell, Heath Ledger, Brittney Murphy, Mike Starr, and Layne Staley—all of which died from addiction; none of which were black.
John and Ken are the biggest ignorant Jack-asses on the talk radio for disrespecting Whitney Houston by calling her a "crack hoe." That was not even called for!
That was so completely rude and utterly disrespectful! WOW! First off I would like to say that everyone has made some mistakes in their lives and its clear that you fruitcakes are not exempt from that! But at least her daughter, her family and the world has some great memories of her to fall back on! You ought to be ashamed of yourself for saying the things you’ve said. At least she will be remembered by her loved ones and fans the question is…when your insignificant life is over will you? And what kind of fruitcake names will people call you or say about you and make your family feel further pain? You are far from perfect…CLEARLY!
Show some respect for her family is the point I am trying to make!
